The Bellator Fighting Championship has announced that former champion Lyman “Cyborg” Good will be competing in the upcoming Season 4 welterweight tournament. He joins Dan Hornbuckle, Brent Weedman, Rick Hawn and Chris Lozano as the confirmed participants in the eight man tournament.

Good (10-1) became the first Bellator welterweight champion when he scored a first round technical knockout of Omar de la Cruz in June 2009. He would later lose a five round decision and the title to Ben Askren in October 2010. This marked the first loss of his career. The winner of tournament will get a title shot against Askren, a fact that helps fuel Good’s motivation as noted in the Bellator release.

Being able to fight [Ben] Askren again was one of the biggest factors behind me entering this tournament. I can’t walk away from an opportunity to avenge a loss to a person that I know deep down – with the proper amount of preparation – I can beat,” said Good. “But right now there are three bodies I’m going to have to get through before I focus on somebody that’s walking around with something that belongs to me.
